September 27th, 1999; Guelph, Ontario... As had been rumoured for many months, ad industry veterans, Bill Dubs and Amitav Dash have left their positions (Creative Director and Director of Sales & Marketing respectively) with The Predator Group, to establish their own agency -- called, appropriately enough, dubs & dash (aka d2 or d-squared).
dubs & dash will focus on the creative aspect of advertising, with a foundation in strategy and research (i.e., work that is visually powerful, strategically sound, and functionally appropriate).
Determined to not have the environment of back-stabbing and political manoeuvring that poison so many agencies, Dubs and Dash have decided to create their agency with a structure that fosters innovative thinking. Their environment will be one that progresses and develops young minds, respects the value of experienced ones, and seeks co-operative means for the mutual gains of all those in their circle of business (clients, suppliers, and allies alike).
